Fairburn put up a good show against a quality outfit, in the shape of last years runners up Woodhouse Grange. Woodhouse opted to bat after winning the toss. Skipper Nick Hadfield was the rock of the Woodhoue Innnings making a 100* whilst there was pyrotechnics from the Woodhouse middle order. Woodhouse finished with 273-4 from their 40 overs.
Fairburn's reply didnt get off to the best of starts, with the opening bowlers taking 3 early wickets. Skipper Mark Abdy tried to take it back to Woodhouse with a less than run a ball 64. Fairburn were second best for much of the game but did not give up and posted 211-8 in reply.
Best of luck to Woodhouse Grange for the rest of the competition.
