Week 14- Fairburn double up again

Week 14 saw another Fairburn double as both 1st & 2nd XI's claimed key victories in their search for promotion. The first XI, stormed to a 9-wicket win over Whitley Bridge A, thanks in main to Graham Bancroft's 4-8, and a fine unbeaten knock from Ian Jones (42*). The second's pulled off an outstanding victory away to Rothwell A, with Daz Weaver & Alan Greenfield staring in a precious 2-wicket victory.

Calypso lose tight final

Fairburn Calypso, the club's 6a-side outfit made their 4th consecutive Gawthorpe 6-a-side competition final, narrowly losing out to Bradford League side Hanging Heaton in a hotly contested final. Calypso, comprising Mark & Simon Abdy, James Clegg, Ian Jones, Craig Piggott, Billy Weaver and Chris Neilson, certainly made an impression posting scores of 80 and the competitions highest 95 in the 5over slog format.

Fairburn BBQ

The 26th July sees the mid-season Fairburn CC BBQ after the 2nd XI home game. All are welcome to join the club, whilst we ask kindly for people to donate their own food and drink, with proceeds helping us hitting our target for the new pavilion. A raffle will take place, with top prize being a cricket shirt donated by our friends at Yorkshire CCC.
