You can't help but love Georgy Myers, who has been a model of consistency for the second XI since their recreation in 2001. Hopping in from ten yards, George continues to land the ball on a perfect line and length, with enough away-swing to give the batsman major problems. In the field, George failed to appreciate the fact that his Vastus Lateralis muscle had weakened to the point that when he started running, he certainly wasn't going to stop. Regardless, this hasn't necessarily been a weakness to the Fairburn cause, as he threw his body around like a young buck, preventing many a boundary. Despite this, unfortunately on one fateful occasion George managed to create enough torque to power the whole of Wakefield as he sling shot 1080 degrees around a telegraph pole (with net) at Newton Hill. Although his appearances are becoming limited, Fairburn will be eternally gratetful for his contribution to the club, both on and off the field.
