Calamity Clegg

It would be an understatement to say that our beloved treasurer has had one of the most painful careers known to mankind. Despite all his wonderful off-pitch work towards the club, it is needless to say that during his successful cricketing career..."Steve Clegg is the most unfortunate cricketer ever".

But why have we brandished him with this label:

Once playing at Howden Clough, Clegg was knocked out by a Metal side screen which just happened to blow over and strike him on the back of the head.

Being a very unselfish man, Clegg once offered to do a spot of umpiring at square leg. Bad Decision! It was not before long he was hit on the left jaw from a powerful hook shot by ex-player Tony Thacker.

Whilst recently playing in the indoor league, Clegg managed to cop a blow to the unmentionable area from a powerful cover-drive.

Clegg is at the moment on the recovery trail after keyhole surgery on his left knee.

In addition Clegg managed to severely twist his ankle in the field, due to an opposition ball rolling onto the pitch. Of course Clegg managed to step on it.

Whilst playing at Netherton Clegg took a stunning catch in the outfield. However this did not stop him falling over the rope, the fence and what can be described as a vertical drop. He later appeared to the field shouting "how's that?".

Now you can see why the members of Fairburn have gave him this name. And the above is just a selection.
